The end and onto something new

2 of my 3 from my final collection

I've finally finished college, it's only taken me 4 years and 2 courses, I'm finally taking that step in to the big wide world and it's terrifying. I'm taking a gap year before uni (I think) I'm going to get a job, gain some life experience and hopefully travel; That's the plan anyway!

There is definitely no secret hope that life will just work out for me in the next part of my life. Not at all, I swear.

I won't lie I am happy to finally be done with college, 4 years is a long time. I've met some amazing people, done some amazing things, got 2 college qualifications under my belt and have had an all round fab time.
It feels like the end of an era and I'm finally onto something new!

I'm going vegetarian

Words to create and express an emotion of inspiration and rational thinking / #believe

This isn't going to be me forcing opinions on, I hate people who do that vegetarian or not. I'm sure I'll have people informing me of their opinions at some point. This is just me informing MY blog of a decision I have made and I thought it would be interesting to document it a little!

Going vegetarian has been something I've thought about for a really long time, I'm a massive animal lover and the welfare and animal cruelty is important to me, but I'm also a fussy eater and eliminating more food from my diet probably isn't the best idea. I honestly feel its just a natural progression for me!

It was a build up of a few small things that made me finally make the decisions, a visit to the farm, driving past pigs, animal welfare, generally feeling a little guilt and then finally the killing of that little pig on Bear Grylls's Island. I'm still traumatised!

It's been just over a month now since I started and I'm going to be real with you, I still eat meat but only once a week. This is because I found when I tried it straight of no meat, it was all I thought about but now I barely think of it at all. I read up about others experiences and some mentioned them gradually dwindling it out and that its ok it doesn't make you less of a person.

I think at first I felt that people would judge me for not going full on straight away, but who cares what people think. You do what works for you! Everything I eat now is suitable for vegetarians, I try my hardest to stick to all the other aspects.

I hope there is no judging going on a and I have full intentions to completely cut out meat.
If you're vegetarian I'd love to know any of your tips and your favourite recipes!

Travelling outfit ideas

airplane travel

Next month I go on holiday, so of course I'm currently buying my holiday bits and I've particularly been thinking of what I'm going to wear on that flight. I outfit plan way in advanced!

So I thought I'd create a couple of options to inspire me. For me travelling is all about comfort and I have late flights there and home, so I need the best next thing to pyjamas right?!

What would you wear travelling?

OOTD - Trainer x Trousers

Top - New Look // Trousers - Asos // Trainers - Schuh // Leather Jacket - old
I'm not sure if I got the Smart trouser x trainer look right but I actually quite like it, so who cares right? The smart trouser x trainer look has been floating on the internet a while and it's one that I personally really like, so I wanted to give it ago. I chose this ribbed top from New Look as it's quite a casual almost sporty vibe to it to balance out the casual and smart look.
Have you tried out this look before?

I'm starting YouTube!

I mean it's obvious from the title, I'm starting YouTube or in other words giving it another go and hope this time round it works out better. I've thought about it for a while, but with college and my blog I just didn't feel I had the time! Now college is finishing in a couple of weeks and I'm a lot happier with my blog, I felt this was the right time to do it.

So wish me luck and hopefully you'll check it out and subscribe!

What to wear for a sightseeing holiday?

Sightseeing

So I was reading the most recent Look magazine and I came across a part which inspired me to create this post. I'm going on holiday in July and sightseeing is a must for me, I'm not one for just sitting and sunbathing. So I thought I'd do 2 little outfits that would be perfect for sightseeing in a hot country!

Comfort was my main focus for these outfits (as usual) trainers for walking around all day, backpack to level out the bag ache that is inevitable and a hat to keep the sunburn away!

A Confessions of a Blogger TAG

It's fun to add the silly ootd rejects to these kinds of posts, enjoy!
  1. When did you start your blog?
Oh gosh, I've been blogging so long now, it's been about 3 years I think! I should really take more notice.
  2. Have you had any past online presence before (Other blog, YouTube)? Before this blog? no, I had Tumblr which I know is classed as a blog but I just use it as another social media sight. I had a venture in YouTube last year but it didn't go to well, I do hope to venture in it again. So watch this space!
  3. Why did you start a blog?
I was doing a different course at college, then the one I'm doing currently and I just wasn't enjoying it. As much as I love animals, I realised I only want to do conservation which isn't really a career path. I decided I wanted to go into fashion, so while I was completing Animal management, I started this blog in hope that it'll give me an advantage when applying for jobs and because I loved reading blogs.
  4. When did you become serious about your a blog?
Honestly I've really enjoyed blogging since I've started but I've always been up and down with my confidence of my blog. It wasn't until maybe this year or just before Christmas that I've really felt confidence in what I've been creating and have been happy with my content, which I think in turn has made me more serious about my blog and what I want to do with it!
  5. What was your first post?
It was an introductory post but my real proper one was an OOTD which was incredible poor.

I like to think I've improved!
  6. What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?
Having blogs ready to go and coming up with content, is a big stuggle. But brunching out into lifestyle and having a schedule has really helped. Also for me personally it's my confidence, I have down days like everyone with my blog and it's success and what I'm doing with it.
  7. Where do you see your blog in one year?
I know followers aren't everything, but everyone wants to see their blog do well. So hopefully maybe with a larger following. Also hopefully that I'm still blogging and enjoying it!
  8. What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
The feeling you get when it's going well and creating good content. Certain Ideas create genuine excitement!
  9. What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
Seeing people who have been blogging a lot less time then you with a couple of thousands of followers. It's not that I'm not happy with them, some people just seem to shoot to success and it's a bit disheartening when it's not happening to you! :)
  10. What's your lasting inspiration or motivation?
Just that I'm enjoying it and finding it a fun and exciting thing to do. How cheesy is that?!

3 Pinners you Should be following!

Hello my name is Courtney and I'm addicted to Pinterest! I'm on it just as much as I am Twitter, which is a lot by the way and it's my go to for any inspiration in general, on my blog or even college work. So I thought why not show you a few of my favourite pinners.

Spell and the Gypsy Collective is actually a clothing store in Australia, the clothes are completely dreamy and so are the pins. I look at their pins and constantly wish I could hang out with them guys or you know live in Byron Bay. Thinking about it my Instagram is full of Australian shops, they just seem to have the dream life!

Meg is also one of my fav bloggers, her blog can be found here, I've recently found myself re-pinning a lot of her pins like a crazy stalker. There's such a variety in her boards and she links her blog outfits too so perfect for outfit inspiration!

Girl in the Lens is always pinning and I always find something I can relate to or find myself pinning, everything just looks so perfect!

If you have pinterest leave a link or let me know your favourite pinners in the comments below!

OOTD - Spring Stripes

Top - Primark / Belt - Asos / Jeans - Topshop / Nike Air Theas - Birthday
Necklaces - Primark

Here is an outfit that I can see myself wearing a lot this summer! I've completely fallen in love with my mom jeans, about 3 years too late I know, but the last couple of months I've found myself leaning towards them as my go to jeans. They're just so effortless and comfy.

I paired them with this knit striped vest top, which is only £5 in Primark I've have you known! I have similar ones in various colours but I'm saving those for my holiday. It's a top I'm certainly going to be getting a whole lot of wear out of this summer. I simply layered these two necklaces over the top, fyi Primark has some seriously amazing jewellery at the moment!
